My first trip to northern Sweden was a journey into the unknown - and into a miracle. In February 2019, in the freezing cold and under a cloudless sky, I stood in Vidsel, a small town near the Arctic Circle. All around me were forests, snow and silence - and then it came: the aurora. Hesitantly at first, then with a force that made me hold my breath. Like liquid light that danced across the treetops, shimmering greenish and streaked with a fine purple colour. It was as if the sky was telling stories - luminous, vivid, mysterious.
Despite the freezing temperatures, I couldn't stop taking photos. The spectacle was too great, too precious. The wooden huts in the foreground reminded me of how deeply rooted man lives here with nature - in respect and silence. I was only a guest, and yet I felt strangely at home. Even today, I can still feel the magic of this moment that has burnt itself deep into my heart.

I have always enjoyed photography. Even when I was young, I took photos with the Beirette. It even happened to me once that I inserted a film twice ... and the photos I took were very interesting.
