About ‘At the harbour market, Esslingen am Neckar’ by Jürgen Haug

This impressive row of half-timbered houses on Esslingen's harbour market is one of the oldest and most significant of its kind in Germany. Built between 1328 and 1331, it embodies the typical charm of medieval Swabian architecture. The striking red shutters, the intricate latticework of beams and the harmonious façade reflect the craftsmanship of the 14th century. The vibrant red and beige tones of the half-timbering harmonise with the light-coloured stone of the ground floor and the bright blue sky. The photograph emphasises the complete appearance of the row of houses and combines architectural precision with a clear, expressive visual language. An ideal motif for large-format wall art, combining historical authenticity with vibrant colours and adding a special touch to any room.
