A veil of night lies over the Andaman Sea. The deep blue of the water flows seamlessly into the cloudy sky, as if the sea and sky had merged into a single ocean of darkness. The waves roll softly onto the fine sandy beach of Koh Mook, their crests shimmering dully in the pale glow of the hidden moon. It is as if the world is holding its breath, caught in a moment between dreaming and awakening.
Far out, almost on the horizon, a few sailing ships rest at anchor. Their white navigation lights dance like little stars on the surface of the water, fragile and constant at the same time. They are tiny beacons in the infinite, whispering indications that life pulsates even in the vastness of the night. You could be forgiven for thinking that the ships are travellers between worlds, their lights delicate threads connecting the here and there.
The sky above is a mosaic of dark clouds whose shapes are constantly changing. Every now and then a crack opens up in the sea of clouds, a hint of starlight seeps through before the darkness swallows it up again. Everything seems to be bathed in a deep, velvety blue that calms the senses and allows thoughts to wander quietly.
There is a quiet magic in this scenery, a melancholy that mingles with the air like the salty scent of the sea. Time seems to have no meaning here - only the eternal whisper of the waves, the sound of the wind and the gentle pulsation of distant lights tell their stories.
