About ‘At Day's End’ by Martijn van der Nat

By the end of the day, all the heavy rain clouds had been blown away by the wind and we got to see this amazing sunset. The shot was taken about 10 minutes after sunset and the long exposure time gives a nice milky effect to the water. This shot was taken at the Valkenburg Lake recreation area. The Valkenburg Lake is a recreational lake and sand reclamation site near the core of Valkenburg and the adjacent Vliegkamp Valkenburg in the Dutch municipality of Katwijk. The lake was created in the 1950s by sand extraction for limestone for the construction industry. The National Narrow Gauge Railway Museum is located here where one can take a ride along the lake on a steam tram. The area has a recreational function for the region, including for the neighbouring Stevenshof, a district in the municipality of Leiden. Valkenburg Lake is also an important nature reserve. The lake and the surrounding meadows are an important habitat and stopping place for

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
