The Arch of Constantine is an ancient triumphal arch in Rome. The arch was erected to commemorate Constantine the Great's victory over Maxentius during the battle of the Milvian Bridge in 312 AD. The 21-metre-high monument is made of marble and brick, and was completed in 315. Emperor Constantine thus celebrated his first decade as ruler.
The world-famous Colosseum can be seen in the background.
