Paleispark Het Loo is the park near Paleis Het Loo. The park was created in the late 17th century along with the palace's famous gardens. Besides the ornamental gardens, which you can only visit with a ticket to Het Loo Palace, there were vegetable gardens, dog kennels, a maze and six square ponds, which served as reservoirs for the fountains in the garden. In the 19th century, the austere, symmetrical baroque gardens fell into disrepair and were replaced by a landscape park. We can still see much of this new park design today.
It is a park full of beautiful places. Whether you like forest paths, moors or a park landscape. You walk past field ponds, a historic bathing pavilion and Queen Emma's tea pavilion, among others. You will see springs and ponds, follies and special places like the horse cemetery and the old shooting range.
Especially in autumn, this is a beautiful place for walking and photography. The bright colours of the trees and the historical buildings set the scene for magic and fairy tales.
