Antwerp Central Station is considered one of the most beautiful railway stations in the world. It impresses with its extraordinary architecture and the many materials that were used: The steel and concrete structure was clad with over 20 types of stone, including several types of marble. It also has glass and metal elements. It is flanked by two towers and spanned by a dome. Over several levels, round arches, balustrades, columns and many ornaments can be seen both inside and outside. On the back above the glass door is an antique-style clock that shows the current time. Below it is the coat of arms and the sign saying "Antwerp". The building is reminiscent of a castle or a cathedral, which is why the station is popularly known as the "station cathedral". The picture is also available in colour.
