Cathedral of Our Lady is a Gothic cruciform church built between 1352 and 1521. The choir was built first, completed in 1415. Then the first segment of the western tower front was built. Around 1430, it was decided to make the church wider than the original plan and construction of extreme northern and southern aisles began. This would eventually create a seven-aisled church. As a result, the nave of the Romanesque Church of Our Lady, which was replaced by the Gothic church, remained in use and was not demolished until 1469. Shortly afterwards, construction of the middle and inner aisles and the central nave began. The nave was completed in 1487; work on the transept continued until 1495. In 1502, work began on the further completion of the north tower, whose cross was consecrated in 1518. In 1534, after the fire of 1533, the wooden crossing tower was erected.
