This beautiful retro-style antique hoover was in an abandoned and dilapidated building. It is a very simple image, but it really appealed to me because of the subdued colours, and the old-fashioned model of the upright hoover. Against a background of soft yellow and soft green peeling paint on the wall, and the lovely soft light through a present window, the picture was complete for me. A wonderfully soothing image, it even has an almost abstract feel to it, were it not for the hoover making this a very realistic picture. It is incredible how much stuff is often left behind in abandoned and dilapidated buildings, I marvel at this every time. Entire wardrobes, complete with personal items like clothes and photo albums are left behind. There is obviously a story behind this, a family history that suddenly stops when they leave the building. If only the walls could talk! Nothing shocking here, just an abandoned retro hoover, and for me a unique opportunity to take an atmospheric photo of it. Very special for the wall!
