About "Anjos Waterfall on Madeira Island."

About the artwork

The Anjos Waterfall is a beautiful natural attraction on the island of Madeira, part of Portugal. It is also known as the Risco waterfall or the Levada do Risco waterfall. Located in the Rabaçal area of Madeira, a popular destination for hikers and nature lovers, the Anjos waterfall is about 100 metres high and flows down a rocky cliff into a small pool. The water flows from the Levada do Risco, an irrigation canal built centuries ago to bring water to the agricultural terraces in the area. The path to the Anjos waterfall is about 8 kilometres long and takes about 2-3 hours to hike there and back. The path is well maintained and offers beautiful views of Madeira's lush greenery, mountains and valleys. The best time to visit the Anjos waterfall is during the rainy season, from October to February, when the waterfall is at its fullest and most impressive. However, visitors should be aware that the path can be slippery and muddy during this period, so suitable hiking equipment is recommended. Overall, the Anjos waterfall is a must-see natural wonder for anyone visiting Madeira who loves hiking and nature.
