The Bayon Temple is an Angkorian temple built by King Jayavarman VII in 1181.
Jayavarman VII is known for building many temples, but this was his state temple. The Bayon is the most centrally located temple in the ancient Angkorian capital of Angkor Thom. It is best known for its 54 towers, each depicting four faces.
