This work depicts a landscape on the high plateau of the Andes in northern Chile. Circular patches of vibrant Punagrass (Achnatherum) stand out against a barren desert landscape shaped by volcanic ash and debris. Mountains in the distance form a striking backdrop under a bright blue sky. In this desolate but beautiful landscape at an altitude of about 4,000 metres above sea level, the colourful Puna grass is the only sign of life and a tribute to the power of life.
