The Groninger Museum is innovative and at the same time interesting for a wide audience.
The multicoloured structure in the water is a work of art in itself, a postmodern building in the middle of Groningen's ring of canals. This bold building was designed by Italian Alessandro Mendini in collaboration with De Luchi, Starck and Coop Himmelblau. Each of the three pavilions is different, yet together they overwhelmingly form one whole.
The Groninger Museum is one of the larger museums in the north of the Netherlands. It manages a diverse collection of extraordinary treasures from the Stone Age to the present day. But what first catches the eye is the building itself. That alone is worth a visit.
