About "An Ear Sown - Pop art"

About the artwork

This work shows a close-up of an ear, crudely stitched with six cross-stitches. The bright yellow hair and hard black lines give the image an immediate, almost comic book-like power. Despite its simplicity in form and colour, the charge is heavy: it deals with shame, deception and the lessons that come from pain.

The phrase "putting an ear to someone" means that you have been deceived - that you believed in good faith something that turned out to be untrue. This work captures exactly that moment after the discovery: the discomfort, the pride that hurts, but also the growth that can emerge from it. The stitches symbolise healing, closing wounds and restoring trust.

The inspiration comes from human vulnerability. Everyone knows moments when you were too gullible or trusted too quickly. In this simplicity lies recognition.

The atmosphere is raw, honest and confrontational, but not bitter. In an interior, the work provides a powerful talking point - a reminder of the value of mistakes and the resilience that comes from them.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
