This illustration is inspired by the terraced houses in Amsterdam. All the houses seem to have their own personality. They are the same and yet different. Just like people. Everyone carries their own colour and decor. I deliberately made the illustration colourful because it evokes joy, creativity, diversity and a good feeling. exactly what the houses in Amsterdam inspire.
The image is not of one concrete place, but rather a collage of some of the houses I found most interesting. Some of them are not even real.
With this painting, I hope to bring colour and cosiness to an interior with a relaxed design.
The painting is made digitally with different techniques to simulate a real abstract drawing. The colour spots are painted with a clay roller and for the details I used an ink brush.
