What do you see in the artwork?

In this photograph, the iconic Amsterdam facades are captured from a wider perspective, emphasizing the dynamic and vibrant architecture of the city's canal-side buildings. Unlike a zoomed-in view, this wider angle at 25mm brings more of the surrounding environment into focus, showing not only the facades but also some of the cobblestone streets and parts of the canal itself. The buildings' tall, narrow forms, with their colorful exteriors and ornate gables, are perfectly aligned yet varied in detail.

What was your inspiration for this artwork?

This image was inspired by the unique energy and atmosphere of Amsterdam’s historic canal district. Walking through the city, I wanted to capture a scene that embodies the blend of culture, history, and modern life.

Did you use a special technique?

For this image, I used a 25mm wide-angle lens at f/3.5 to capture more of the scene without sacrificing depth. The aperture allows for a slight depth of field to create separation between the foreground and background, while still maintaining enough sharpness in the details of the buildings. The fast shutter speed of 1/1000 sec ensures crispness, freezing any subtle motion such as cyclists passing by or boats drifting on the canal.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
