'At the foot of that old Wester'
Much sung about is the Westertoren on the edge of Amsterdam's Jordaan district.
Everywhere from this Amsterdam working-class neighbourhood, the tower can be seen and (especially) heard.
Every fifteen minutes it beats its'n tune.
It has been the icon of the Jordaan for hundreds of years, and still is.
Here on a beautiful summer day, it stands proudly among the trees and under the beautiful blue sky with clouds.
