About ‘Alone in the world’ by Omega Fotografie

This wild oryx seems to be alone in the world. What a beautiful landscape in Namibia. A picture for the wall. We shot this picture during a safari through southern Africa.

Oryxes can be recognized by the long, thin straight horns, the rather short mane, the hump on the shoulder and large hooves. The thin fur is white in color with black, gray and/or brown markings. Both sexes wear horns. They have a shoulder height of 81 to 120 centimeters and a body weight of 65 to 200 kilograms. The horns grow 38 to 127 centimeters long. The genus name Oryx is probably derived from Herodotus, who describes an antelope from Libya named "Orys". This name seems to be derived from the verb "oryssoo"or "oryttoo" meaning to dig. The Arabian Oryx digs pits in the sand to rest cooler. The Libyan "Orys"of Herodotus was possibly the Algazel, but the Addax from the same area could also qualify.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
