Alligator Lake in Lake City, Florida, is a recreational area close to the city. The area in the north of Florida is not a hotspot for international tourism, but that is precisely why it is worth exploring. Here, the Sunshine State is relaxed, without the hustle and bustle of the tourist centres. Instead, you can immerse yourself in normal, authentic America. Several hundred alligators live in the lake and you can hear and see them on walks around the water. However, the lake is not named after the animals, but after a former important indigenous chief.
The picture shows a tributary of the lake. The three trees are reflected in the calm water.
