How many times have you heard that "all roads lead to Rome"? Not only was this true in ancient Rome, but all major roads built before and during the Imperial era have an exact starting point, called "Migliaio d'oro" (Golden Milestone). It is located next to the Temple of Saturn, in the middle of what is today the largest historical site in the world: the Roman Forum.
Forum Romanum was the lively center of Rome in ancient times. Originally, trade was conducted here, but later the Romans also gathered here for political and legal matters. The Forum Romanum contains many buildings that have played an important role in the history of Rome.
