Alkmaar city night

Alkmaar (pronunciationⓘ) is a city in the province of North Holland in the Netherlands, and the capital city of the municipality of Alkmaar.

Alkmaar has a historic centre with 399 national monuments and 700 municipal monuments. The city is known as "the cheese city". A traditional cheese market is held weekly from early April to the end of September.[3] An inhabitant of Alkmaar is called an Alkmaarder, but in the vernacular it is called kaaskop.[4] The city has two railway stations: Alkmaar station and Alkmaar Noord station.

Etymology
The name Alkmaar has been used in various forms since the Middle Ages: Allecmere (tenth century), Alcmere (1063), Alcmare (eleventh and twelfth centuries), or Alkmare (1132). Possibly the last part but (formerly mere) means "lake", "pond" or "swamp", while the first term alk seems to come from the Dietary meaning "swamp" or "temple".[5]

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
