In West Africa, you regularly come across traditional huts. Round mud huts with a thatched roof. In some countries, they make the huts smooth like stucco. Sometimes they colour the plastered walls. Here in southern Burkina Faso, in Tiébélé department, the traditional huts and enclosures are not only painted in ochre or brown, but the walls also have symbols. I find the architecture in this part of West Africa very interesting. You don't really find the shapes and colours of the richly decorated houses anywhere else in the world. If you ever go to Burkina Faso, a visit to Tiébélé is definitely worthwhile.
