About ‘Afluitdijk monument’ by Keesnan Dogger Fotografie

The Vlieter monument is located near the Vlieter, the place where the Afsluitdijk was closed in 1932. It is a monument in the shape of a watchtower, designed by architect Willem Dudok. The tower was built in 1933.

There is a footbridge over the motorway and a car park on both sides (Verzorgingsplaats Monument).

In his design for the tower, Dudok assumed the protective function of the Afsluitdijk against the North Sea. The visitors go via a wide open staircase to the balcony of the tower. From under a wide overhanging roof, visitors can see the IJsselmeer across the entire width. He then enters the spiral staircase in the stairwell. The IJsselmeer remains clearly visible. On that side of the stairwell are high windows. There are no windows on the Wadden Sea side of the staircase. Only at the top of the balcony is the Wadden Sea suddenly visible.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
