Abstract portrait of a woman in soft tones

by Henk Egbertzen

A serene portrait of a woman in profile, in which the boundaries between the figure and the background blur. She seems to dissolve into the paint.

This work is a celebration of texture. The thick, impasto brushstrokes give the image an almost three-dimensional quality. You can almost feel the movement of the palette knife.
-
The colours are soft and earthy: cream, warm grey, beige and a subtle hint of coral orange. This palette fits perfectly with contemporary wabi-sabi and Japandi interior design trends.
- Her closed eyes and peaceful expression evoke a deep sense of tranquillity and introspection. It is a moment of stillness, captured in paint and texture.
- The composition exudes balance. The sharp profile is offset by the cloud-like, organic forms of the background, ensuring the whole never feels too heavy or cluttered. - This artwork is ideally suited to a luxury hotel room, an executive office or a stylish living room. It instantly adds a touch of refinement, tranquillity and artisanal elegance to the space.
