Holiday by the lake with mountains behind. Watercolours with classic mountain landscapes on the hotel room walls.
I was in the mood for something different. Mountains yes. Classic no.
So I went for the bright colours. The mountains are delicately hinted at in the background under a strong blue-yellow sky.
The lake in front is enchanted and shimmering in blue, green, yellow, turquoise and a touch of pink.
Splashes of colour, a few plants and twigs, ornaments and two fish - all are allowed into the picture.
Even if it doesn't look like the lake in front of my hotel, I always think wistfully and happily of the beautiful days there when I see the picture.

I painted the picture with watercolours and white gouache paint on cotton paper.
Colours: Blue (light and dark), yellow, green, turquoise, pink, gold, white, fineliner black
