About the artwork
This picture shows an abandoned greenhouse that is in a state of progressive decay. The broken panes of the roof allow rain and sun to enter unhindered, which has given nature the opportunity to slowly reclaim the interior of this once vibrant place. There are scattered objects everywhere - empty pots, plastic bags and overturned chairs that indicate that people used to work hard here. Now this place is filled with silence and the remains of human activity are overgrown by time. The once well-tended planting tables are now overgrown and overgrown with weeds. The picture radiates a strong sense of melancholy, which is further emphasised by the diffuse light and the chaotic arrangement of the objects.
