"A square of abstraction: From fluff to abstract" is a macro photograph of a fluff of a dandelion, with a brown (including taupe and beige) and grey background. Water droplets hang from the fluff. This work has a very distinct atmosphere on the one hand a realistic representation of a fluff with droplets, on the other an abstract, almost painterly background. There is also a sense of depth in the work. This is because I chose a shallow depth of field when taking this picture. As a result, only a small part of the picture is in focus and the further away (or closer) a particle is, the blurrier it becomes. (In this work, the sharpness is at the transition from the stalk to the fluff with the droplets.) Among other things, this also creates the distinct effect on the background. Because this is further away, it becomes more blurred and abstract. The droplets also help to create this dreamy atmosphere, as they reflect the light and this creates sparkles on the droplets. This photo was taken with a more extreme macro lens than is normally used. This magnifies the subject even more and you start to see elements you had probably never seen before:For example, see the "little hooks" attached to the hairs of the fluff? "The wonderful world of extreme macro photography". The background of this work, because of the alternation of brown and grey shades and the patterns in it, looks like it is made of some kind of metal. Could, for example, hang beautifully as a wall decoration in the waiting room, bedroom, hallway or simply above the couch in the living room!
