Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.
The artwork appears at its true size, so you cannot scale it in AR. Want a different size? Close AR and pick the size on the product page.
Still nothing? Open this page in Chrome or Safari. AR does not work in the browser of apps such as Instagram or Facebook.

Beta feature. You need an AR-capable device (a recent iPhone/iPad or Android). The AR view is only an indication; colour, size and finish may differ in reality.

About ‘A new year of fire and sea’ by Walter G. Allgöwer

The dusk lies over the Atlantic like a held breath. The sea still carries the last blue tones of the day, while the sky opens up to the new year. In Funchal, between the mountains and the water, the light begins to speak. Fireworks bloom like ephemeral stars, greenish, golden, white - as if the sky itself had decided to embrace the city.
The cruise ships in the harbour rest like glowing islands. Their windows reflect the explosions, as if they want to capture the fleeting seconds before they sink back into darkness. The water responds with trembling reflections, each wave a soft echo of light. Smoke drifts gently across the bay and mixes with clouds, time and expectation.
The city rises out of the night in terraces, a thousand small lights tell of life, of farewells and beginnings. Europe does not end here, but breathes far out into the ocean. Madeira seems timeless at this moment: a place between yesterday and tomorrow, between earth and sky.
The fireworks fall like shining rain, and with every spark a wish seems to sink deep into the sea to be preserved there. When the last rays are extinguished, silence remains - filled with hope, salty wind and the feeling that every new beginning looks exactly like this: bright, fleeting and beautiful.
