About the artwork
"A hydrangea leaf with mirror image in shades of brown" is a macro photo of a hydrangea leaf that has already partially decayed, allowing you to see beautifully the vein structure of the leaf. If you zoom in on the work, you can see the vein structure well at the top two leaves. The leaves are very fragile and thin, making the veins stand out beautifully.
The colours give this work a warm feel. The many different shades of brown (beige, taupe and sometimes almost gold-like) ensure this, among other things. The background/substrate also consists of shades of brown, and the leaf reflects in the substrate.
When taking this photo, I chose a shallow depth of field. The further back you look, the blurrier the leaf becomes. This (together with the lighting) creates depth in the work.
The leaf lies on a mirrored surface. As a result, you can see a reflection of the leaf on the surface.
This work could hang beautifully as a wall decoration in the dining room, kitchen, bedroom or simply above the sofa! (Of course, also beautiful in business spaces such as on the wall in a meeting room, office, waiting room or practice room!)
