A herd of horses in a meadow caught my attention. As I watched, the group moved slowly through the grass, the muscles under their shiny coats playing rhythmically with each step.
Focusing on the animals' backs created an intriguing play of lines and shapes, almost abstract in its simplicity.
It was also nice that the group consisted of both white and dark horses, which together formed a telling contrast in the soft light of the afternoon. The repetition of movement and colour gave the scene an almost painterly character - soothing and powerful at the same time.
