About ‘A close encounter with a tulip’ by José IJedema
I enjoy a bit of macro from time to time. One day I bought some tulips to shoot a few close-ups. One of the neatest tricks I've learned is to really fill the frame, so that the flower touches the edges of the frame, and takes up most or all of the frame, getting real close, at a very intimate distance, accentuating simplicity.

Hi, I'm José, nice to meet you! ? I’m an outdoor photographer, traveler, and fan of the outdoors. I bike, run, hike, ski, and, most of the time, I bring my camera with me. On a lot of photos you'll see my partner; we almost always travel together. When I'm inside, I'm running my business Tranquil Force as a digital marketer. You might also find me playing the piano, with my nose in the books, swimming, cooking, or enjoying a beer.
If you would…
