A cinema experience with a classic pool ladder on the island of Crete by Silva Wischeropp

I took this classic pool photograph during my swimming and photography holiday on the island of Crete, in the tranquil countryside around Amoudara, on a summer’s morning using the NIKON D800. The ever-changing patterns on the pool floor, created by the sun’s reflection, are truly fascinating.

A pool with a ladder epitomises the classic image of relaxation, refreshment and a carefree holiday.
It combines practical benefits with deep-seated emotional associations of being on holiday.
The ladder symbolises the seamless transition from the heat of everyday life to cool refreshment.

Anticipation as you climb: every step up the ladder heightens the anticipation of the cool water.

Classic aesthetics: the characteristic design of a stainless steel pool ladder immediately evokes holiday associations and that cinematic feeling.

The centrepiece of the garden: the ladder enhances the pool’s visual appeal and magically draws the eye.

The steps provide a firm footing when entering and exiting the water.

The sensory experience
Gentle cooling:
The ladder allows the body to acclimatise to the water temperature step by step.
Refreshing foot bath: You can sit on the top step and simply dangle your feet in the water.
Sound effect: The characteristic splash of water against the rungs enhances the acoustic holiday atmosphere.
