Near the refuge de Rosuel in France is a beautiful walk dotted with flowers and butterflies. Truly a delight for flower and butterfly lovers. Furthermore, it is also just a very nice area to take a holiday. Here I saw and photographed this wood fritillary on the daisy. The photo was taken in the morning, which gives it those beautiful bright colours in its wings. With these colours, you always have spring on your wall. If you photograph butterflies in the morning, they stay still longer and then you can take your time to get a nice picture of them. The tops of wood fritillaries are dark with orange spots. Personally, I think the underside is the most beautiful side. It looks like a kind of mosaic of white and orange pebbles. This species belongs to the family of foxes, pearl moths and weather moths. In the Netherlands, it is actually no longer found, very occasionally in the south of the country.
