With my photos's I try to show viewers how beautiful Dutch nature actually is. After all, if you go outside and take the time to immerse yourself in your own environment, then you really see what beauty we have in our country and why we should cherish this nature so much. I would therefore like to share my photos with you.
My images are characterised by very high sharpness, true-to-nature colours, beautiful lighting and a wealth of detail. I love close-ups, always selecting on the look in the animal's eyes and the details in its fur. My aim is to create images that honour the natural beauty of the animal.
This photo of a young fox was taken in North Holland, in the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes, near Haarlem. In early autumn, I came across the animal near a sand flat. Completely relaxed, the fox and I stood looking at each other for a while and I joined it. After a while, the curious animal approached step by step and I had the chance to capture her on film. What a wonderful experience!
By aiming for a calm background, the animal's details really come into their own, I think. I am therefore very proud of the result.
