A balloon full of light and wonder by KRAB

Sometimes a single ray of light is enough to change the whole world. In this dreamlike digital artwork, a child looks up at an orange, glowing balloon. The dark surroundings make that warm light all the more special: a brief moment of wonder that captures one’s full attention.

The child is seen from behind, so their expression remains hidden. It is precisely this that leaves room for your own memories and feelings. Perhaps you recognise the uninhibited gaze of your childhood, the longing for something out of reach, or the hope that a small glimmer of light can bring.

Beneath the balloon, sparks of light hang like a twinkling trail. They connect the glow at the top with the small silhouette below, lending the scene a touch of magic. The grainy texture and softly fading points of light reinforce the atmosphere of a dream or a cherished memory.

Deep midnight blue and almost black create a warm-to-cool contrast with the amber-coloured balloon and golden-orange sparks. A soft glow touches the vegetation in the foreground, whilst the rest of the landscape remains shrouded in darkness.

The square format keeps the composition intimate and balanced. This atmospheric wall art brings warmth and imagination to a living room, bedroom or quiet reading corner. For lovers of poetic images that do not tell the whole story, but evoke a feeling. Exclusively available via Werk aan de Muur. Digital art by Karina Brouwer (KRAB), Delft, the Netherlands.
