A male fallow deer with impressive antlers runs by a field of yellow flowers. This photograph was taken shortly after sunrise at Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen, a nature reserve close to Amsterdam. Captured during the rutting season, where male deer defend their harems, engage in fights, and burl and grunt warnings to other males.
