During a hike through a high moor in Norway, we were followed by a loud call and didn't know for a long time what it was and where it was coming from. Suddenly we discovered this small bird among the bushes, which kept following us. This behaviour is typical of this migratory bird. When enemies approach, a parent lures the enemies out of their territory. They then draw all attention to themselves by calling. We were not only fascinated by the courage of the Golden Plover, but also by its extraordinary plumage, which has not only white and black spots, but also bright yellow ones. In this picture, the lapwing-like bird stands quietly and watches us attentively, looking directly into the camera.
