About ‘5th ave’ by Denny Stoekenbroek

In this dynamic charcoal drawing, Denny Stoekenbroek captures the beating heart of New York in a way that feels at once cinematic and poetic. "5th Avenue" shows a snapshot of a walker crossing diagonally as taxis and shadows move among the skyscrapers. The composition is powerful and precise: the vertical lines of the buildings draw the eye upwards, while the light in the centre creates an almost spiritual depth.

The figure in the foreground is just a silhouette, anonymous but full of movement - a personification of the urban flow in which no one stands still. The text on the asphalt ("LANE FIRE") fades under his feet, as if time and place are only fleeting notes in a larger story.

What makes this work special is the way Denny manages to evoke a sense of pace, sound and even smell using only charcoal. The atmosphere is raw and romantic at the same time; it seems like a memory, or the beginning of a story yet to unfold.

"5th Avenue" is an ode to modern city life, to the constant movement and anonymous rhythm of the metropolis. For anyone attracted to urban life, photography, noir cinema or architecture, this work is a still life full of life.

Denny Stoekenbroek (b. 1978) is a Dutch artist specialising in expressive charcoal drawings. His work is characterised by a cinematic atmosphere, strong light-dark contrasts and a deep focus on character and emotion. Denny is self-taught and draws inspiration from vintage photography, classic beauty and timeless portraits. His drawings are sold internationally and he gained fame through his participation in the TV programme "Stars on the Screen".

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
