For much of my life I have been taking pictures.
In the past, during vacations on the Veluwe, I regularly 'borrowed' my father's or big brother's camera to capture a row of posts along the bicycle path or a lonely tree on the vast heathland. Photos in which my parents raised their eyebrows questioningly when they were finally printed, well after the vacation.
When I was about 14 years old I got my first camera, an old Practica TL-5 and shot my own rolls of film. In the years that followed, I had several cameras and enjoyed taking pictures. In 2011, when I temporarily had less space for my other hobbies, I joined a photography club and since then things have gone from bad to worse.
More and more, photography is not something I do -though it is a hobby- on the side, but more and more I actively seek the image I have in mind. I like to share the photos I find beautiful, fun or interesting on my site and socials. Often these are photos of nature, but I also find more "graphic work" such as lines and textures interesting.
In 2016, I was accepted into Camera Natura. This is a is a national discussion group of the Fotobond, whose subject is nature photography. The group consists of about 30 nature photographers, from all parts of the country.
