About WatercolorWall
Welcome to WatercolorWall. I am Ricardo Bouman, a graphic designer and painter with a keen interest in cities, architecture, nature and landscapes.
My paintings often have a connection with nature, an emotion, a cityscape or a location I have visited myself. I paint based on my own (travel) experiences and on the idea that: ‘To be able to create an atmosphere, I must first have experienced it myself’.
I paint cityscapes and landscapes, which are categorised into the following styles: Realism, Line and Wash, and Illustrative. I also create Expressionist, Dynamic, Minimalist and Modern Abstract art, in which movement or emotion often takes centre stage.
Curious about how I create my paintings? Then click on the ‘YouTube icon below my profile picture’ to watch my videos.
I digitise my paintings by photographing them in high resolution. At Werk aan de Muur, my paintings are available as small, medium or wall-filling wall decorations, such as wallpaper.
Whilst many people these days are full of praise for the use of AI (artificial intelligence), I have made a conscious choice not to use it and to remain true to the manual use of brushes, watercolour paint and paper. I create paintings in my own illustrative style, using techniques that I have learnt and developed over the years.
WatercolorWall is therefore 0% AI.
