About Uwe Schlüter
My journey with the camera began years ago – initially out of sheer curiosity. I wanted to capture moments, without realising that photography would one day become a kind of language for me. At first, it was the tranquil landscapes that drew me in: vast horizons, rolling hills, forests in the morning light, or the play of clouds over the water.
Over time, my perspective changed. I no longer simply photographed places, but rather the stories they told. Nature became my greatest source of inspiration. Each season brought new moods; every light, a different story. Mist lent a sense of mystery to the familiar; rays of sunshine made colours glow; rain created reflections and new perspectives.
Colours and shapes increasingly took centre stage in my work. I began to discover details that are often overlooked in everyday life: the delicate textures of a leaf, the pattern of weathered tree bark, the sweeping lines of a coastline, or the graphic beauty of shadows. The obvious became abstract; the ordinary became extraordinary.
Today, photography is far more to me than simply capturing a moment. It is a search for harmony, for contrasts, for light and stillness. Every image arises from the desire to make emotions visible and to invite the viewer to look a little longer.
Recently, I have also discovered AI as a way to give free rein to my imagination.
