If you ask yourself what photography is all about, there are various approaches and theories that attempt to answer this question. What is photography itself? From my subjective point of view, photography is like capturing a mental moment - an idea, a visual thought construct that you can hold on to and keep forever. You perceive your own world - and perceive what your intuition and your mind are orientated towards - and capture the moment before it too disappears in a long series of moments. In this way, every photographer breathes their own character into every photo, a trait or rather a story that can be told through the photo. That's why good photographers are visual storytellers.
My first story in the form of a picture was when my father gave me an analogue camera when I was 8 years old. I immediately took it with me on a trip to Europe and soon began to develop a fascination for pictures and captured moments. Whenever I was on the lookout for new photo motifs while travelling, I began to develop an eye for the unusual, the human, the poignant, the moving and the deep, emotional through my emphatic feeling for people, absurd scenes, beautiful architecture and unique street scenes.
