From an early age, I wanted to be an illustrator and artist. I spent every free moment drawing, colouring and painting. I was inspired by the work of famous artists. I started drawing by hand - with pencil, acrylic and watercolour on art board or canvas. In the 1980s, I was the top visualiser for Volvo Netherlands and DAF Trucks, among others, and created countless visuals, illustrations and art posters for these companies. This largely explains my passion for cars. I was always fascinated by their beautiful lines and exciting details. I also worked as a designer, illustrator and animator for design studios and for large advertising agencies. Meanwhile, I have been working successfully for many years as an independent entrepreneur in my home studio. For me, ClassicCar-Art is a 'side-project' into which I put a lot of energy but get just as much out of. A hobby that actually got out of hand, or picking up my first love again: drawing and painting, but with the freedoms the digital age has to offer.
