In my light-filled studio, I create abstract paintings in acrylic and oil. I work intuitively and draw inspiration from what you see in nature: structures, colour transitions and random shapes. I often build my work in thin, fluid layers, allowing depth and nuance to develop and sometimes giving the painting a slightly dreamy feel.
The sea, clouds and natural textures play a role, as do traces of decay such as rust and abandoned places. It's that unpredictability and imperfection that appeals to me and often finds its way into my work
The paintings fit well in interiors where colour is allowed to play a role. They can blend with a space or become a distinct accent. They follow their own path; just a little different, for those who are too.
Over the years, my work has been shown in various places and has found its way to people both in the Netherlands and abroad.
Each painting is made by hand, with paint and brushes, and I leave it to you what you see in it or feel when you look at it.
