What is wallpaper?

Wallpaper is wall decoration in a whole different category. No frame, no border, your artwork covers the entire wall. From floor to ceiling, corner to corner. The result is impressive and personal at once. You choose the artwork, we make it to measure for your wall.

When do you choose wallpaper?

When you want to make a real statement. When one wall in a room gets to steal the show. Wallpaper works especially well in living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and children's rooms, really anywhere you want to give your space its own character.

Non-woven wallpaper (in strips)

Non-woven wallpaper in strips is printed on sturdy 147gsm non-woven material. It's tear-resistant, shrink-resistant and biodegradable. It's delivered as one long roll, with all the strips arranged one after another, numbered and spaced. You cut them apart and paste them onto the wall strip by strip.

You don't need a pasting table. Apply paste to the wall, stick the wallpaper on and slide it into place easily. Each strip is 50 cm wide. It's easy to wipe clean with a soft cloth.

Hanging: apply paste to the wall, stick strip by strip. Not sitting right? Peel it off and reposition. Recommended adhesive: Bison non-woven wallpaper paste, or Perfax pink.

Please note: the wall must be perfectly smooth. Wallpaper in strips doesn't work on a roughly plastered wall.

Wall preparation - important!

For a great result, your wall needs to meet a few requirements:

  • Clean, dry and perfectly smooth - wallpaper won't stick to a rough or damp wall
  • Light-coloured surface - a dark wall can show through light wallpaper. For dark wallpaper, a dark surface is actually recommended
  • Absorbent wall? - test this by spraying water onto the wall. Does the water soak in? Then use a primer or size first
  • Right temperature - avoid hanging wallpaper in extreme cold or heat, and make sure there's no draught

How is non-woven wallpaper delivered?

As one long roll, the wallpaper is printed. All strips come one after the other, marked with the correct numbers and spacing, you just have to cut them loose. The width of the strip is always 50 cm. There are instructions at the top of the roll.

The wallpaper is sent in sturdy packaging. A courier will collect the parcel from us and deliver it directly to your home or office. We work with couriers who are used to handling fragile packages, so that's fine.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Of course, something can always happen during a shipment. However, if your parcel is damaged during transport, please contact us and we will solve this quickly and correctly.

How wide are the strips of non-woven wallpaper?

Non-woven wallpaper is printed on rolls of 50 cm.

What kind of wallpaper do you offer?

Our wallpaper is made of strong paper with a fibreglass layer. The paper is 120gsm. It can be applied to a wall, typically without any preparation, and is very easy to apply. The big advantage of our wallpaper is that it can be applied without a wallpapering table. In addition, compared to traditional wallpaper, it is much stronger. It does not shrink and it is almost impossible to get any cracks.

What is the minimum and maximum size of wallpaper?

You can order any size from us! OK the minimum size is 50x47.5cm. From this size onwards, simply enter the dimensions you want and we will divide this into 50 cm strips. Simple isn't it?

How do I hang non-woven wallpaper?

Non-woven wallpaper is printed in 50 cm rolls. As the basic material is sturdy, pasting is made much easier with stretching kept to a minimum. Simply apply the paste to the wall (no need for a table) and affix it one strip at a time. The durability of the paper should ensure that it does not tear or shrink. Before you start sticking the wallpaper, check the prerequisites for a sleek finish:

  • Is your wall clean, dry and smooth? Then there should be no problems!
  • Apply on a light (white) background, this way you ensure that the colour of the background is not visible through the wallpaper.
  • For non-woven wallpaper we recommend wallpaper paste for extra heavy, special and non-woven wallpaper from Bison. Or use Perfax Pink. You can find this at any hardware store.
  • Do you have a very absorbent wall? Then use an adhesive primer or other primer to ensure that the glue remains on the wall’s surface. This also prevents the wallpaper from shrinking and creating unsightly seams. A tip for testing, whether a wall is absorbent or not: spray it with a plant sprayer, if the water is absorbed into the wall then you should consider a primer.
  • While applying wallpaper, make sure the temperature in the room is as normal as possible. It is preferable not to apply wallpaper in extreme cold or heat.

How do I clean non-woven wallpaper?

The non-woven wallpaper is lightly wipeable with a soft cloth. Any glue spots can be removed immediately with a wet cloth and dabbed dry afterwards.

What glue do I need for non-woven wallpaper?

Wallpaper paste for extra-heavy, special and non-woven wallpaper from Bison. Or use Perfax pink. You can easily order the matching wallpaper glue via your shopping cart.

How should I prepare my wall with wallpaper?
  • Your favourite artwork is printed on wallpaper in strips of 50 cm.
  • The wallpaper is printed as one long roll. With the strips following each other premarked with the correct numbers and spacing; you simply cut where directed. There are instructions at the top of the roll.
  • As standard, we supply the wallpaper with extra margin, so that you can crop the wallpaper precisely. The margin is an extra 5 cm on each side.
  • Use the right glue: Perfax pink or Bison
  • Our wallpaper is strong, tear-resistant and doesn’t shrink
  • Read the instructions on how to prepare your wall carefully. These tips can be found in the FAQ below and will be sent to you by e-mail when you place your order.
Can non-woven wallpaper be hung on a coarsely plastered wall?

No, an important requirement for non-woven wallpaper is that the wall must be mirror-smooth.

Do you have a freshly plastered wall? Then first apply a moisturising layer, e.g. Perfax Roll On or primer. This will prevent the glue from being sucked into the wall and your print will remain even.

Do I need a wallpaper table?

No, a table is not necessary. Simply apply the paste to the wall and hang the rolls one at a time.
