Toucans (Ramphastidae) are a family of birds of the order woodpecker birds that occur in Central and South America. The toucan grows between 35 and 60 centimetres tall. Its wings are relatively short and its tail is quite long. Its back feathers are glossy black and it often has a variegated plumage on its chest. Its legs are built like those of the woodpecker, with two toes pointing forwards and two toes pointing backwards. Males and females look the same.The blue-headed Amazon Amazon (Amazona aestiva) is a parrot-like bird in the family parrots of Africa and the New World (Psittacidae). The bird's plumage is green, with all feathers showing a faint black outline. The forehead and part of the cheeks and throat are blue. The area around the eyes and ears is yellow. The cheeks and throat are green, blue or yellow. The wing bend is predominantly red, with many birds showing yellow feathers in the red. The tips of the wing pins are violet-blue. The wing mirror is coloured red as are the five outer wing pins. The tail is green tapering to yellow-green at the tips. The outer tail feathers are red at the base. The birds further possess a naked, white to grey eye ring. The beak is dark grey, the iris of the eyes orange and the legs grey. Carl Fahringer (Wiener Neustadt, 25 December 1874 - Vienna, 4 February 1952) was an Austrian painter, illustrator and academic teacher.
