I saw Hallstatt, a place I had seen passed by so many times on social media. But with my own eyes, it really was even more impressive. The houses cascading down the mountainside, the church tower standing out and the water so calm, it all felt even more beautiful and real than in photos
What struck me most was that Hallstatt is known as a busy, touristy place, yet you find moments of complete tranquillity. Along the lake, in a narrow street or just sitting on a bench looking at the view, everything feels peaceful and quiet. You only hear the gentle lapping of the water and the occasional bells of the church. It is a village that feels much bigger than its size, but at the same time remains small and intimate.
