dancing tulip - the beauty of impermanence
a spent tulip in warm shades of orange and yellow. its petals hang around the pistil like a tutu, the frilly stem moves as if the tulip is dancing its last dance.
I love flowers. from the moment a bud betrays its colour to the exuberant splendour of full bloom. but perhaps even more from what comes afterwards. when colours fade, leaves droop and petals detach themselves from the heart ... in that imperfection lies an unexpected beauty.
flowers are a precious gift from nature. by watching and cherishing them for as long as possible - right until they have finished blooming - I pay tribute to their fleeting beauty.
