About ‘World War I Fortification Ruins on a Mountain Ridge in the Italian Alps’ by Strange Paradise

Weathered stone fortifications from the Great War climb a rugged mountain ridge in the Brescia region of Lombardy, surrounded by the vast and austere landscape of the Italian Alps.

The surviving defensive walls, narrow loopholes, and fractured masonry reveal the site’s military past, while years of exposure have softened its presence into the surrounding terrain. Aged stone contrasts with sparse alpine grass scattered across the steep mountainside, where traces of human intervention gradually give way to the elements.

Behind the ruins, steep rocky slopes rise toward distant peaks beneath a clear summer sky, where soft white clouds drift above the mountains. The immense landscape dwarfs the abandoned structure, creating a powerful contrast between the permanence of the mountains and the fragile remains of human conflict.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
