Wooden stave church Heddal, Norway.
This is the largest surviving stave church in Norway. There are 28 of them left.
The church was built in the 13th century and this is the only church with 3 towers. After the Reformation, the building was so damaged that it had to be restored.

The church stands in the municipality of Notodden in the Norwegian province of Telemark.
Heddal's stave church is a much-visited tourist attraction and is still used for church services.
In the foreground the lilacs are blooming. This creates a beautiful vista.
